Graveside services for Donald Pitman, age 47, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, formerly of New Market, Iowa, who entered into peace Monday, May 7, 2012 at his home in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., prior to the ser vice at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda. Burial will be in the Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to New Market Fire and Rescue. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on our website at, www.ritchiefuneralhome.com under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Clarinda, Iowa.
Donald Dean Pitman was born July 13, 1964 in Clarinda, Iowa to Lyle and Marie (Cameron) Pitman. He passed away on May 7, 2012 at Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
He graduated from New Market High School with the class of 1982. Later he attended Iowa Western Community College at Clarinda. He worked at the Lil' Duffer while in school. Later on he worked at the Iowa Department of Revenue in Des Moines, Prairie Meadows in Altoona and Wal-Mart in Windsor Heights. He enjoyed leather-working and photography.
Don was preceded in death by his father Lyle, and his grandmothers. He is survived by his mother, Marie of Pleasant Hill; brothers, Dave (Denise) Pitman of Indianola, Iowa; Doug (Rhonda) Pitman of Granger, Iowa; nieces and nephew: Michelle, Julie, Lisa, and Samuel Pitman.
May God grant comfort and peace to those who mourn his passing.
