Graveside services for Harry Dideriksen, age 93, of Clarinda, Iowa, who entered into peace Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Eiler House, Clarinda, Iowa, will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. Burial will be in the Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice, Red Oak, Iowa. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on our website at, www.ritchiefuneralhome.com under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Clarinda, Iowa.

Harry Andrew Dideriksen was born July 25, 1918, in Neola, Iowa to Nels Dideriksen and Christina (Hellstrum) Dideriksen. He was one of eight children. He was raised on a farm and assisted his father with the farming operation. Harry honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II from February 10, 1941 to September 3, 1945. He was captured at Fade Pass, North Africa and spent twenty six months and ten days as prisoner of war of the Germans. On April 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Juanita Snyder at Clarinda, Iowa.

Harry was a life long farmer and enjoyed being a farmer. He farmed in the Shenandoah and Clarinda area. Harry had an extensive collection of toy John Deere tractors. He was a member of the American Legion. Harry enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.

Preceding Harry in death were his parents; wife, Juanita (11/10/1999); siblings, Julius, June, Chris, Robert, James, Raymond and Clara.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters-in-law, Ruth Dideriksen of Gravity, Iowa, Eleanore Liljedahl and husband Chuck of Shenandoah, Iowa; friend of the family, Mary Etta Otte of Clarinda, Iowa; nieces; nephews and many friends.

Harry will be missed by all who knew his friendly smile.
His memory will live on in their hearts.
May God grant comfort and peace to those who mourn his passing.
